Casey P. Eitner, President/CEO, has extensive experience starting and running successful new biotech businesses. Mr. Eitner served as VP Business Development & New Businesses at Life Technologies (Invitrogen). He was previously Executive VP of the Molecular Diagnostics Division, now Digene (DIGE), which pioneered DNA-based diagnostic tests for papillomavirus and cervical cancer. Biotech Venture Management LLC, which Mr. Eitner founded, has been providing senior management roles to early stage biotech companies in the US, Canada and Europe since 2000. He is also a director of CytoStore, Inc. a spin-off from the University of Calgary.
Lewis Parker, Board Director, is currently a director of DJ Orthopedics, Inc., (NYSE: DJO), a global orthopedic device company. He previously served as a director of Interpore International, Inc. (BONZ), and as director and CFO of American Osteomedix, an orthopedic products company sold to Interpore in 2001. Mr. Parker was President of Orthopedic Operations for Kirschner Medical Corporation (KMDC), acquired in 1994 by Biomet. At Hazleton Laboratories (HLC) he was CFO and later President of the American Laboratory subsidiary. Mr. Parker is currently a principal in Parkwood, LLC, a venture investing firm that was an early investor in EPI.
James Groninger, Board Director, is CEO of LBS Technologies, Inc., a private biotechnology company focusing on RNA amplification and cellular therapy, and an investor in EPI’s current Series A Preferred offering. Mr. Groninger founded and is President of The Bay South Company, a Richmond, Virginia-based provider of financial advisory and investment banking services. From 1988 through 1994, he served as a Managing Director, Investment Banking Division, of PaineWebber Inc., now UBS. Mr. Groninger is a member of the board of directors of NPS Pharmaceuticals, Inc. and Cygne Designs, Inc., both publicly held companies, and LBS Technologies. Mr. Groninger received an M.B.A. degree from Harvard Business School and a B.S. from Yale University. He is a CPA and a CFA.
