Tissue Proteomic Luncheon at the 2008 ASMS Annual Meeting, Denver, CO.

Wednesday, June 4, 12.00-1.00PM

Mining and Measuring Protein Biomarkers in FFPE Tissue

Hosted by Expression Pathology Inc. and NextGen Sciences, Ltd.

Expression Pathology Inc. is developing enabling technologies for discovery and measurement of protein biomarkers in tissue.

NextGen Sciences, Ltd. is a leading provider of mass spectrometry based proteomic analysis. The company has developed a suite of biomarker services that utilizes proprietary methods to significantly decrease timelines and increase the success rates traditionally associated with the various stages of biomarker development.

Working together the companies provide a full range of tissue proteomic biomarker discovery, assay developoment and testing services.

We are proud to host presentations by two leading clinical proteomics specialists;

12.00 Biomarker Discovery and Quantitation for Tissue Proteomics
Dr. David Krizman, CSO and scientific co-founder of Expression Pathology

12.35 FFPE Tissue Proteomic Biomarker Discovery and MRM MS-Based Validation in Early Stage Non-small Cell Lung Cancer
Dr. Toshihide Nishimura, Tokyo Medical University

Seating is limited. Pre-registration required (click here for registration). Lunch will be served. We will email you a confirmation and location information. Please come by our booth, number 21, in Denver.

Dr. Toshihide Nishimura, Tokyo Medical University, is leading both the Japanese Society of Clinical Proteomics and the Japanese HUPO as a Board Member. He is Guest Professor in the 1st Department of Surgery, Tokyo Medical University, CSO, BiosysTechnologies, and a Technology Advisor to CANON. He is an expert in mass spectrometry and proteomics, and is actively collaborating with major pharmaceutical companies and governmental institutions, including the National Cancer Center in Japan, on projects related to biomarker discovery and development in clinical research.

David Krizman, Ph.D., Chief Scientific Officer, is a scientific co-founder of EPI. Dr. Krizman has been a pioneer in applications of novel genomics technologies to tissue while at the National Human Genome Research Institute and the National Cancer Institute. During his time as a Principal Investigator at the NCI he co-founded and led the Cancer Genome Anatomy Project. Dr. Krizman has also served as a scientific contractor and adviser at the Naval Research Laboratory.

Expression Pathology Inc. (EPI) is a leader in tissue microproteomics. Our technologies make possible mass spec protein analysis of formalin-fixed tissue, enabling discovery, validation and routine measurement of protein biomarkers related to clinical outcomes. Our near-term mission is to offer breakthrough research tools and collaborations to improve drug and diagnostic development and for basic research. Our proprietary technologies also provide the foundation for a whole new platform of tissue diagnostic tests currently under development.

The Liquid Tissue® MS protocol prepares FFPE samples for mass spec analysis. Complete solubilization captures the entire protein content. Mass spec friendly. Requires only 30,000 cells for multiple mass spectrometry analyses.

The Director™ Laser Microdissection Slides provide the fastest, easiest and most accurate way to collect specific cellular features from tissue sections. Engineered for use with existing Leica LMD and PALM Zeiss laser microdissection system.
